ABSTRACT
The effectiveness of 12 chemicalcompounds (azoxystrobin, carbendazim, chlorothalonil, fenarimol, folpet, mancozeb, myclobutanil + mancozeb, prochloraz +carbendazim, tebuconazole + triadimefon, tetraconazole + chlorothalonil, tiophanate-methyl, tridemorph+epoxiconazole) in the control of Puccinia horiana was tested on chrysanthemum cv. Fiji Yellow. Additionally, their influence on plant growth, size of pustules and eventual phytotoxicity were assessed. Plants were sprayed 4 times at weekly intervals. Chrysanthemum sprayed with azoxystrobin, myclobutanil+mancozeb, tebuconazole + triadimefon and tridemorph + epoxiconazole did not show disease symptoms. Curatively application of these fungicides destroyed over 95% of pustules. Carbendazim, fenarimol and folpet were slightly less effective than the other tested fungicides. Mixture of tebuconazole + triadimefon caused some growth retardant effect but did not result in phytotoxicity problems. Tridemorph + epoxiconazole showed strong phytotoxicity to tested chrysanthemum cultivar.
