The Editorial Office of the Journal of Plant Protection Research is pleased to announce that, effective September 2020, Prof. Natasza Borodynko-Filas took over the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Plant Protection Research.
Prof. Natasza Borodynko-Filas is the head of the Plant Disease Clinic and Bank of Pathogens in the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute. Her scientific research has focused on conducting biological and serological tests, such as agar gel immunodiffusion, immunoelectron microscopy or ELISA in order to identify viruses in samples received from research sites or in those which she herself collected. After preliminary identification, which was often confirmed by molecular methods, such as RT-PCR, she also identified and characterised the genetic variability of viruses and different isolates within the population of a given pathogen. During her 24 years of team research in the Department of Virology and Bacteriology, she identified more than 20 new viruses, viroids and phytoplasmas occurring in Poland and new strains of already known viruses. The results of this research have been published in dozens of scientific articles.
We would like to thank our outgoing Editor-in Chief, Professor Henryk Pospieszny, for his significant contribution in the advancement of JPPR.
Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Natasza Borodynko-Filas, Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute, Poznań, Poland
